The Ethanol Fuel Tuner (SMT8-EFT) is a plug and play product. This means that your original ECU engine harness will not be damaged. The EFT plugs in-between your injector and your injector clip, making it possible to complete the basic installation in less than 30 minutes, depending on the number of engine covers you need to remove. Once installed, the EFT will allow you to run any ethanol mixture or blend in your fuel tank. The EFT works in harmony with the original ECU to provide an accurate ethanol fuel mixture. Simply by flipping a switch, you can toggle between a leaner or richer ethanol fuel mixture.

In its basic configuration, the EFT does not require any PC software. The EFT has already been configured for you in our factory. In this state, the EFT will provide perfect ethanol control.

All manuals and supporting documentation can be downloaded from the DDS Direct website after the EFT kit has been purchased. Simply visit your “Account” section on DDS Direct for the necessary link to download the software.

Harness Length:

The injector harness comes in two lengths. The normal injector harness length is 1 meter and is suitable for most single bank 4 and 6 cylinder engines. The extra length injector harness is 1.5 meters long and is suitable for twin bank or ‘V’ 6 and 8 cylinder engines. Please make sure that you have selected the appropriate product with the correct harness length. This particular product has a short harness.

The EFT-KIT includes:

    1 x Injector Harness (select type of Injector clip from list of options)

    1 x EFT Controller

    1 x Temperature Sensor

Injector Type Selection:

You will need to choose which type of injector clip is used by your injectors. There are 9 different types and your engine will use one of them. To identify which injector clips you require, simply unplug the injector clip from the injector and match it up against one of the pictures provided under "Additional Images".

Software Option:

The EFT is capable to run effectively without tuning software. Should you wish to see more of what the EFT is doing or tune it yourself, then the Software Option will need to be purchased. A CD will be included in the box with the tuning software as well as all the manuals. A standard RS232 communication cable will need to be purchased from your local computer supplier. The RS232 cable is not included in the package! Purchasing a RS232 cable locally will save on shipping costs and reduce your carbon footprint.

Extended Warranty:

The EFT comes with a normal 1 year warranty. The Extended Warranty is for a total period of two years and is bundled with the Reflash option. This will allow you to periodically receive firmware updates so as to ensure that your EFT always has the latest operating system. Under “Related Products”, select the “Extended Warranty” product.
